Swimming Reminders

Students without SIGNED forms will not be able to attend swimming. All students MUST have a swimsuit to participate. WEAR warm clothes for swimming week. Next week is going to be cold and students should have hats to cover wet hair, coats, and other warm clothing. Be at school ontime or students may miss their bus to go swimming.

Students who have opted out of swimming are expected at school and will have programming provided. Students in swimming will be in the school for most of the day.

Unpaid Field Trip Fees

There are many families who have not paid field trip fees and have an outstanding balance on their PowerSchool accounts.

Trips with many, many unpaid field trip fees include:

  • Rothney Observatory, grades 4,5,6
  • Safety City, grades 1,2,3
  • Last year's Kinder: Butterfield Acres.

Families are still expected to pay fees, even past the date of the field trip. At Cappy we work hard to keep the fees low for all families. All of the bussing is paid for through our Parent Society, and the fees are reduced by donation. If your family cannot afford the fee, then please speak with our office to request a principal waiver of fees. We do need families to pay the portion of fees remaining so that we can continue to offer these experiences for our students.

Dates of Cultural & Social Significance
We realized that we have gotten behind in sending out our dates of significance! A belated Happy Lunar New Year, and we have just entered into the Year of the Snake. May the year bring prosperity and health. Additionally, many of our families celebrated Orthodox Christmas on Jan. 7.  A belated but heartfelt Merry Christmas to our families observing this holiday.

February is an important month for many of our families, students and staff as well. February is Black History Month, and we have Pink Shirt Day on February 26. It even looks like Ramadan may begin on Feb. 28.

Have a Super Cappy Weekend!
