School Council Meeting – Wednesday, June 12 at 5:30
Join the super Cappy Council for our last meeting of the year! Come and find out what it's all about. During this meeting, we will discuss supporting Sports Day, Teacher Appreciation and other events. We will reaching out to all families to help with council in the coming months, as there is a major fundraising event coming up in November. Our fundraising efforts have purchased bussing for field trips, residencies at school, Cappy gear (coming next year!), a beautiful school sign, to be installed over the summer and MORE!
Before the Summer Break
Families, we are planning to have literacy, math, and all of our subjects right up to the last day of school! Every minute of school learning is important to our students. Our students' last day of school is June 27. June 27 is a SHORTENED day – we will be on a Friday schedule. If you are planning an early vacation, then you will need to come to the office to fill in an extended absence form.
Staffing – Leaves
Dear families, we have now had confirmation that Ms. Christensen will be on leave until at least June 26, 2024. She sends her hello's to our students and families. Ms. Wells will remain as the teacher for 4/5C until the end of the year. In addition, Ms. Muller is away until June 24, 2024. Ms. Carto has been our guest teacher for Ms. Muller and will also stay for the remainder of Ms. Muller's leave.
School Fees are Due
A new fee waiver application form must be completed for each school year. Waiver applications for the current school year are available from August 15 through your MyCBE account.
The deadline for waiver applications for the 2023-2024 school year is June 30 of the applicable school year. Waiver applications that are submitted past the deadline may not be approved.

Leaving Cappy Smart School?
Is your family moving and your children will be attending a new school? Please inform the office as soon as possible. Thanks so much for helping us keep track of our enrollments, as it helps us with planning for next year.
Next School Year - Bell Time Changes 2024-2025
Next year we will be changing our school bell times.
We teach bell to bell, so please note that students are not released before the end of day. Our younger students take more time to get ready, and so release time will be when they are all ready to go outside. Some of our not yet independent, take time to put on their coats and gather their belongings! This is a great reason to work on each of your children's independence. By midway through Kinder, students should be able to tie their own shoes, zip up their jackets, put on snow pants, and pack their lunch kits and home communication journals into their backpacks. Children are capable of these things and may need more opportunity to practice with you. If your child is unable to do these things, please practice over the summer!
