Good morning Super Cappy families,
As we head into our Spring Break, I wanted to send out a message highlighting all of the amazing work your students and are staff have been doing! Friday is a no school day for students, and Thursday we will be having a PJ/Comfy Clothes day. At the start of the week, many of our students' classes were surprised to find that there had been a mischievous leprechaun leaving little messages and messes for our students to find. Sadly, the leprechaun was able to avoid our Super Cappy traps, and therefore our students will have to keep wondering what the Cappy visitor really looks like!
Patrols Update
We have started AMA Patrols at Cappy Smart School. Every morning and afternoon, our grade 4 & 5 teams, with their teacher leader, are now patrolling the west crossing (where most of our students cross Madigan Drive). They have made an excellent impact already, and I look forward to seeing how this will impact the driving in the neighbourhood. Additionally, we are now able to have our supervisor out at the east crosswalk, supporting safer crossings there as well.
This has all been a result of the hard work of our staff, especially Ms. Khulbe, and our students. As always, drivers PLEASE take extra precautions and be safe while driving past our school. Thank you to the many parents who follow the rules, and park on the side streets. We see you and we appreciate your choice!
A Cappy Hero!
A big shout out to our Super Cappy Community parent, Mr. Don, who is often taking some time picking up the litter in our fields and along the road. We see you and we think you are AMAZING!! From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful for all the extra ways our families help keep Cappy great!
It takes a whole community of committed individuals to keep our fields, roads, and other areas litter-free. Canadians pride themselves of keeping litter off the ground and ensuring that we maintain a clean environment for all to enjoy!
Literacy Parent Sessions
Our CBE Speech Language Pathologists are putting on two online sessiona about supporting your K-2 child's language development on Apri 25, 4-5 pm and May 2, 4-5 pm. The registration deadline for these sessions is April 19, 2024. Please find the registration QR code and more information in the attached sheet:
Found Phone
We found what looks to be a very expensive android phone with distinctive markings in our field. The phone has been locked by the user and we are unable to trace it back to its owner. If you know anyone who has lost their phone, please have them call the main office to see if its theirs.
New Cappy Logo!
We have an updated logo! Our students, parent council and staff gave lots of feedback to create a newer logo. We are excited to share it out with you today and you will notice it's been updated on our website as well!
