Greetings Cappy families, We have a busy and fun week ahead (in addition to all of the learning our students will be doing). Many of our clubs and activities are starting up again, and our students are settling into their routines. The Super Cappy Book Fair! Sept 16-20 Ms. Townsend, our Super Cappy Library Assistant has organized another stupendous book fair. All week our students will have an opportunity to visit the book fair and make their wish lists. Families, you are encouraged to visit the scholastic website to pre-order your child's choices. https://bookfairs.scholastic.ca/bf/cappysmartschool Students who bring money will be able to shop during the day on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th in the morning. Additionally, the Scholastic Book Fair will be open to families in the Gymnasium on Thursday evening and Friday morning during our pancake breakfast and Terry Fox run. Grade 6 – Mandatory Parent Meeting – Tim Hortons Children's Ranch Camp staff will be joining Ms. Mahon, Mr. Thomson and Ms. Khulbe from 6-7 pm as they share about the outdoor school our 6's will participate in at Tim Horton's Ranch. This meeting is an important opportunity to ask questions, see the camp, and ensure that your child is ready for this incredible opportunity! Please meet in Ms. Mahon's classroom, Room 16. Meet-the-Teacher - Thursday, Sept 19 6-7:00 pm Come to the school and meet your child(ren)'s teacher! Our staff are ready to share their classrooms with you and talk about how families can also support their child's learning. This is also an excellent opportunity to meet our office staff, get help with school messenger and PowerSchool sign up, and to find out any other information you might be seeking.
Welcome Back Super Cappy Pancake Breakfast - Friday, Sept 20 7:30 am We are having our 2nd annual Supper Cappy Pancake Breakfast from 7:30-8, sponsored by the Cappy Smart Parent Council. The Bowness Lions Club will be cooking up and serving pancakes for all families, students and sibilings. Please plan to join us for our welcome back community event which includes as many pancakes as you can eat and a juice box. Pancakes will be served on the NW compound, near the outdoor classroom. Terry Fox Run – Friday, Sept 20 Once students have digested their amazing pancakes, they will be participating in the Terry Fox Run on Friday, Sept 20. More details to follow! Sign Up for TEXT MESSAGING through School Messenger. School Messenger emails and texts are Cappy Smart's main form of communication. Ms. MacDonald will send key reminders about upcoming due dates and events through text messages! If you have not yet opted in for text messaging, please do so. Families must ensure that they are reading school communications and have signed up for messages through email and text.
