Greetings Families,
There was an important message sent to all of our families regarding Cappy Smart and change in grade configurations. Next year our grade 5's will remain at Cappy for grade 6; Cappy Smart will now be a K-6 school for general population and a 1-6 for EES. Families, if you have any questions about how the grade change could affect you, please reach out to the main office to speak with myself or Ms. Khulbe.
Winter Wonderland
We have had a huge response to our Winter Wonderland event, which is sponsored by our amazing Super Cappy Council. This event will run on Thursday, Dec 14, from 5:30-7:30 and include crafts, games, and hot choc. We are asking families to BYOM (Bring Your Own Mug). We will be following a rotation system that evening, so that each family will have time at each station.
A New Motto
Thanks to our Student Advisory Committee, staff and Parent Council for helping us come up with a new school motto: Be Kind. Be Courageous. Be Cappy Smart!
Our Super Cappy Student Advisory Council
This year some of our grade 4 & 5 students have been selected to be part of the Cappy Smart Student Advisory Council. So far they have worked with Ms. MacDonald to share our new school motto, come up with redesign ideas for the Cappy logo and t-shirts. A few of them spoke at our first Keep Cappy Connected Friday gathering, and to our Area 3 Education Director. They are going to be working closely with our staff to share their ideas about how to make Cappy an even greater school for our students.

Keep Cappy Connected Gatherings
We will be having Friday gatherings on the days that our Kinder friends are at school. The purpose of these gatherings is to celebrate our students who are making great choices, share whole reminders, and have an opportunity to be together as a school. During our first meeting, teacher gave out a Cappy Certificate to those students who have been going the extra mile to help others and be super Cappy Citizens. We are so proud of each one of these students.
Take care families, and we will see you at our Winter Wonderland event!
