Greetings Cappy Families, 

Happy back-to-school eve!  We have been prepping and readying for the return of our students, and all of our staff is so looking forward to seeing them tomorrow! 

Thursday Morning – First day of school 

Our grades 1-5 teachers will be out on the east compound (playground side) to meet their new students and families between 8:00-8:15 am.  All teachers will want to meet with parent/guardian at drop off to confirm contact and emergency information. Ms. Khulbe, Mr. Saini, and Ms. Petry will all be out helping families find their teacher.  Ms. MacDonald will be in the main office, helping Ms. Agnes make appointments for unregistered/transferring students or students who do not yet have a homeroom. We ask that for tomorrow, you avoid coming into the main office unless absolutely an emergency, as the first days are very, very busy at schools. We are a single secretary school, and we are not able to answer phones, talk to parents, and register new students all at once.   

After tomorrow, our NE doors will be open for all grades at 8:00 am for a soft entry.   

Parking reminders 

DO NOT park in school staff parking lots or in front of the lots.  It is not safe. You will be asked by staff to move your car.  Please park further away and walk with your children to the compound; there is a lot of parking on the east side of our field, on Manora and Maitland Drive. The front of the school (Madigan Dr) is a city no parking zone. 

DO NOT park in the handicapped zone in front of the school, as our yellow busses for EES use these parking areas. 

ONLY cross at the crosswalk. Set a good example of safety for our children. 

Kindergarten and EES families 

Your teachers have reached out to you to introduce themselves and share the staggered entry plan. If you have not spoken with our teachers, it means your child is not fully registered and/or registered late. Please call the office after 9:00 am to set up a time to meet with Ms. Agnes if you have not spoken with your Kindergarten or EES teacher. Our afternoon Kindergarten students will meet at the NW door at 12:06, when Ms. Petry will let students in to start their day. We do not have soft entry for Kindergarten, and it is important to have your student here on time!  

Communication with Home 

Our teachers will communicate Thursday evening through School Messenger. The weekly email messages are our main form of communication. They contain important information about the week's learning, the upcoming week, and key dates.  Every year you must re-subscribe for school messenger at https://calgary.schoolmessenger.com/cbe_subscribe.  Please ensure that you take all necessary steps to recieve communications from the school - this is an important and expected role of all parents.
