Dear Cappy Families,
On Tuesday, September 29, we gathered as a school community to honour Orange Shirt Day and to learn, reflect, and remember together. The Grade 2/3 team thoughtfully led our assembly, sharing a meaningful poem, reading a story, and guiding students through learning about the history and lasting impacts of residential schools. Their leadership helped create an important opportunity for students to engage in age-appropriate conversations about truth, reconciliation, belonging, and respect. We concluded our assembly by coming together in a whole school song. Thank you to our grade ⅔ students and teachers, as well as Mrs. Hornseth, for their work putting together this assembly. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the families who joined us for the assembly. Your presence helped make this a meaningful experience as we learned and reflected together as a school community
